Well established hotel group in Antigua is seeking to employ a well-organized, self-motivated individual to fill the position of:

Marine Manager

The successful candidate would be primarily responsible for the overall operation of the Company’s fleet of boats comprising two large Catamarans, two Island Hopper 30, one 34 ft Bowen power boat; in addition to a 13 slip Marina.

He will be responsible for monitoring and managing of all boats systems, both audio and visual; training ancillary staff in first aid techniques; ensuring ancillary staff adheres to Company’s policies; maintaining records and documentation to ensure adherence with the Maritime Laws of Antigua & Barbuda; maintaining liaison with Company’s Chief Mechanic to ensure scheduled maintenance program is adhered to; ensuring that health and safety standards are maintained by Captain and Crew of each vessel; ensuring that all operations are conducted within allocated budgets.

Candidate should be well versed in basic maintenance for boats, engines, transmissions and propulsion.   He should be skilled in boat handling and operation.     He must hold First Aid Certification.

Possession of a valid Captain’s License as well as experience sailing the waters around Antigua & Barbuda is a requirement.

Computer literacy will be an asset.

REMUNERATION

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Senior Oceanographer, Puerto Rico

 MS in Oceanography (PhD preferable). 10 to 15+ years of experience working in oceanographic and water quality studies. Candidates should have extensive knowledge in waste load allocation, modeling, mixing zone studies, waiver demonstration studies, design and implementation of field surveys and oceanographic field techniques. Good organizational skills and a proven ability to manage large and diverse data sets are necessary. Knowledge of Puerto Rico and Federal Environmental Regulations required (CWA 301(h), 316(a&b) & 403 demonstration studies). Must have strong technical writing skills in both Spanish and English. Establish and maintain good communication with government permitting officials. Fully bilingual. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish. Excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite) and managerial/leadership skills.
