Librarian – Learning Resource Centre, BVI
The Librarian is an information professional who provides a wide range of traditional and digital reference services to students, faculty, administration, staff and the general public. The individual should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Information and Library Services, or an Undergraduate degree and/or 3 -5 years of librarian experience, (cataloguing or reference preferably at an institution of higher education).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Advising and assisting library patrons with reference and information requests.
• Providing basic computer support to library patrons on the use of the library catalogue, online databases, the internet, and other general information
• General oversight/supervision of the processing of material including preparing cataloguing data for input; assigning codes and tags accurately.
• Providing general reference assistance.

Dean, Workforce Training, BVI
Masters degree from a recognized institution in Business, or Technical Education(Doctorate preferred)
Proven management skills including planning and development, supervision, budgeting and accounting procedures, public relation techniques.
A distinguished record of teaching, scholarship and service sufficient to warrant appointment at the rank of full professor/principal lecturer;
Minimum five years of educational management experience in a tertiary or higher educational environment
At least five years of relevant classroom teaching experience
Up-to-date with current technology developments and quality processes
Superior interpersonal, communication, team-building and leadership skills
APPOINTMENT DATE
The successful candidate will be required to take up duties on 1 August 2008.

Required Qualifications:
A good first degree (preferably in Linguistics or Language Education) and a postgraduate degree (preferably a Ph.D) in the teaching of academic writing skills in English.
Experience:
Training and experience in the teaching of English language and writing skills at tertiary level to West Indian students, and experience in coordinating education/training programmes. Technical and computer skills an advantage.
Responsibilities:
Teaching, developing innovative and educationally well-grounded materials and coordination of sub-parts of the University’s English Language Foundation Courses.
