On behalf of our Bermuda based client, we are seeking an experienced Elevator Mechanic who would be interested in relocating to sunny Bermuda!

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Installing new equipment and modernizing existing equipment
Troubleshooting and repairing equipment
Assessing maintenance requirements of jobs
Liaising with current and future clients
Conducting surveys of equipment
Report writing

Qualifications/Experience required:
Three years relevant experience in an industrial elevator environment
Previous experience working with Otis equipment is desireable
Experience working with the electrical ,building and fire codes
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience using on board and external diagnostic tools
Valid driver’s license
Current with the ASME A17.1 elevator code

Candidates should be highly portable and have outside interests that lend themselves to this offshore and idyllic living environment. Compensation will be competitive, based on experience and nearly completely tax-free (only 4.75% tax)!

Job Function:

Duties may include:

Due to the unique relocation required, candidates should be highly portable, able to relocate fairly easily, and have outside interests that coincide with the Island lifestyle. The initial term is 3 years though there would be opportunity to remain longer subject to Bermuda immigration/work permits etc.

This ‘hands-on’ management positions reports directly to the General Manager responsible for the company’s large electrical contract work. Duties & Responsibilities will include:
Contract tendering – develop costing for project values to $10 million
Project planning – develop master job plan, material procurement schedules and cost projections
Field management – site reports, scheduling, coordination, progress reviews and change directives

Safety, quality control and customer satisfaction

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
Recognized qualification or license certifying technical competence
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the electrical trade
At least 4 years supervisory experience as a General Foreman or Project Manager on job sites that involved a crew manning of not less than 10 tradespersons
Demonstrate a high degree of technical competence in reading, interpreting and evaluating working drawings and specifications pertaining to the electrical and other trade work

(c) PREPARE AND COORDINATE preparation, reproduction and dissemination of documentation for meetings;

(d) MAKE arrangements for venues, translators and interpreters, rapporteurs, stenographic and reproduction services, protocol, the provision of equipment and supplies required for meetings;

(e) TRAIN personnel for servicing meetings, as necessary;

(f) PUBLISH the calendar of approved meetings on the Secretariat’s website;

(g) PREPARE quarterly reports on the implementation of the Conference services Work Programme;

(h) PREPARE staff performance appraisals and submits reports; and

(i) UNDERTAKE any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Director, Corporate Services.
